Narratives

August-September

A narrative is defined as a story that you write or tell someone, usually in great detail. I would like to add… show someone. Often a narrative is meant to include the “whole story,” a message that tells the particulars of an act or occurrence or course of events.

How do we share the journey of our lives with those we love or with the world at large? We tell stories of interesting, dull, exciting, frightening, inspiring, moving, and enlightening events that have befallen us or that we have created…. that have simply happened as an accident or planned for years…events that have changed our lives.

Incorporated into those stories are sights, sounds, and moods that bring these events back into the mind’s eye as fresh as the day they occurred and can be expressed powerfully as visual art. Every picture tells a story….What’s yours?
