Black Art Matters

Spring 2025

This art exhibit celebrates the peaks and valleys of black life—past, present, and future. It explores the struggle, tears, laughter, frustration, hope, unwavering faith, power, character, endurance, and fearlessness experienced from generation to generation. Regardless of portraying the Harlem Renaissance, dismantling the stigma in today’s workplace, or even how to raise a black child in today’s society safely, we are looking for artwork that conveys depth, provokes discussion, and even makes people uncomfortable.

Important Dates:

  • Application Deadline: February 8
  • Delivery of Artwork: Monday, February 24 (1-4 p.m.)
  • Opening Reception: Friday, March 7 (5:30-7:30 p.m.)
  • Pick-up Artwork: Monday, April 28 (10 a.m. – 1 p.m.)
