Director, Carrollwood Winds
The Carrollwood Cultural Center is seeking a dedicated conductor/director for the Carrollwood Winds ensemble. The candidate will be characterized by strong interpersonal skills, a collaborative nature, administrative abilities, and a commitment to music in a mutually supportive environment.
Responsibilities may include:
- Teaching and supporting proper instrument techniques and music reading skills
- Conducting rehearsals for the ensemble
- Providing feedback to improve musician’s playing
- Selecting appropriate repertoire for concerts
- Overseeing stage presence and performance quality during concerts
- Recruiting new band members
- Fostering a positive and inclusive band environment
Required skills and qualifications:
- Strong musical skills, including conducting, sight-reading, and instrumental proficiency on multiple instruments
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Leadership qualities that motivate and inspire
- Organizational skills to manage complex schedules and logistics
- Knowledge of music theory
- Bachelor’s degree in Music, Music Education, or a related field
The Winds meet for rehearsals on Tuesdays from 7-9 pm
Renumeration: $22.50/hr
