CARROLLWOOD — The campers are all ready to act out.

They’re participants of the Adventures in Filmmaking camp, held every summer at the Carrollwood Cultural Center, where these campers are daylighting as budding Steven Spielbergs.

Over the course of three weeks, about two dozen 11-13-year-olds will storyboard, write, film, edit, direct and even act in movie projects which will then be shown at a red carpet premiere.

“Most kids who come to this camp know movies already,” said the camp’s director, Jaime Giangrande-Holcom, who also teaches filmmaking at Plant High. “So, they have a love of movies and have, most likely, seen the movies they’re going to be working on. They come to this camp wanting to learn more about how movies are made.
