GRAMMY-NOMINATED JAZZ GUITARIST TO MAKE CARROLLWOOD DEBUT

GRAMMY-nominated jazz guitarist Diego Figueiredo will perform at the Carrollwood Cultural Center located at 4537 Lowell Road in Tampa on June 3 at 8 p.m.

Figueiredo is a virtuoso whose concerts unite technique and emotion to combine Brazilian music with jazz. He has performed in more than 60 countries, making him one of the hottest international names in his genre.

Born in 1980 in Franca, Brazil, Figueiredo started playing the electric guitar in theaters and local pubs, revealing his ability to improvise and harmonize at 12. At 15, he conquered theaters and nightclubs in many Brazilian states, playing solo or with renowned musicians.

Diego has collaborated and performed with names like Gilberto Gil, João Bosco, Roberto Menescal, Toquinho,  Janis Siegel, Stanley Jordan,  Joao Donato, Larry Coryell, Ken Peplowski, Lewis Nash, John Clayton, Cyrille Aimée, Jeff Hamilton, Terell Stafford, Wycliffe Gordon, Bill Cunliffe, Dick Hyman, and many others.

Figueiredo has released 28 CDS, 3 DVDs, and a book and has received awards twice at the “MONTREUX JAZZ FESTIVAL” as one of the greatest guitarists in the world.
