Center Seeks “Macabre & Mysterious” Entertainers
Are you a spooky skeleton clown that can do creepy face painting and spooky balloon animals? Or are you a dark cabaret singer that can sit at our grand piano and play music in the vein of Jill Tracey or The Dresden Dolls?
The Carrollwood Cultural Center is seeking entertainers to provide live entertainment for the “Macabre & Mysterious” gallery opening and artist reception on Friday, October 8, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The Center is looking for volunteer entertainers whose art form or performance can fit within the theme “Macabre & Mysterious.” Considered performers may include but are not limited to musicians, vocalists, performance artists, spoken word artists, contortionists, circus art, sideshow art, dance, speed painters, and live sculptures. Entertainers would perform for either two 45-minute sets or multiple smaller sets throughout the two-hour event.
For more information or consideration, please email Entertainment Director Derek Baxter at [email protected] or call (813) 922-8167.
The Gallery at Carrollwood Cultural Center traditionally celebrates art focused on mysterious subjects for its October exhibit. Past exhibits include “Strange & Abnormal Figures,” “Spooky Creatures,” and “Ghouls, Ghosts & Glow.”
