Carrollwood Village Hosts Blues & BBQ on February 26

Carrollwood Village will host a Blues & BBQ event on Saturday, February 26 from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. at the Carrollwood Cultural Center, located at 4537 Lowell Road in Tampa.

The outdoor music event will feature blues-inspired performances. The event schedule includes performances by: Elise Van Wolfe and Theresa Daley of Silver Dollar Club at 11 a.m.; 2014 International Blues Hall of Fame® inductees Laurie and Rusty Wright at 1 p.m.; the 4-piece band Electric Woodshed with an eclectic mix of original and cover songs at 3 p.m.; and Tampa Bay favorite, musician George Pennington at 5 p.m.

Blues & BBQ will also host five food trucks competing for the title of Carrollwood’s Best BBQ. The competition will feature That’s Kickin’ Chicken, The Wing Co., Sweetie’s BBQ, Westchase BBQ, and Royal Projex Southern Kitchen. For $10, event attendees can purchase a BBQ Pass, which will grant access to specially-priced tastings from each vendor for $5 per vendor. After enjoying each tasting, the patron will vote for Carrollwood’s Best BBQ. The winner will be announced at the end of the evening.

The event will take place under the trees behind the Carrollwood Cultural Center at Lowell and Casey Roads. Concertgoers can bring lawn chairs and sun umbrellas. Artisan vendors will be available, and attendees will be invited to participate in a community art project.
