Winning Artwork in Student/Faculty Art Show Announced

The Gallery at Carrollwood Cultural Center celebrated artwork by its faculty and students in the Annual Student/Faculty Art Show during a reception on Friday, November 12.

The exhibition showcases work by the Center’s students and faculty from 2019 through 2021. Art Curator Michele Stone announced the winning pieces during the reception. The winning art by adult students include first place for “Purple Glaze” by Suzy Edl, second place for “Chalice & Paten” by Reverend Marti Mattner, and third place for “Big Faith” by Celeste Selgado. The winning pieces by youth students include “Serengeti” by Azure Falquez, “Chemo” by Vanessa Portalatin, and “Under the Sea” by Maylaya Teel.

The Gallery dedicated the 2021 Student/Faculty Art Show to the memory of artist Peter Stilton who passed away in December 2020. Stilton frequently taught and exhibited at the Center. Stilton’s work is also on display in the Gallery through December.
