Carrollwood Cultural Center to ‘describe’ theater performances

TAMPA — The Carrollwood Cultural Center will offer audio description of all Center-produced theatrical performances starting with opening night of the musical “First Date” on Sept. 16.
A recently purchased assistive listening system will allow the center to increase accessibility for blind and low-vision patrons, according to a press release.
The system was purchased with funds from the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay Competitive Grant. The Center also received grant funding through the AARP Community Challenge to train personnel to provide live audio description services.
