Francine Michel finds the natural world a continuous source of inspiration. Flowers, plants, and trees located nearby or found on a journey are captured. Beginning with a plein air study on rice paper that may involve some abstraction, Michel continues the process by fusing the picture into wax. This encaustic method can also involve additional surface techniques.
With its luxury exhibit space, Michel also includes new series and approaches for this show. This section includes digital work, white line printing, frottage pictures, and cityscapes of France. Michel enjoys sharing and talking about her work. She looks forward to an exciting summer at the Carrollwood Cultural Center.
