SUMMARY:"Pointillism & Beyond"
DESCRIPTION:This show is an exploration and an expansion of the Neo-Impressionists’ love of light and pure color!\nDeveloped by Georges Seurat and his student Paul Signac\, it was a more scientific approach to color theory than the previous impressionist movement. According to Paul Signac\, who rejected the “Pointillist” label\, “The Neo-Impressionist does not dot he divides.” The goals of “luminosity” and “harmony” were achieved by using solely pure pigments in the “prism” as defined by English physicist Sir Isaac Newton. \nUsing this perspective as a jumping-off point and an inspiration\, the Gallery at Carrollwood Cultural Center is proud to present artwork that expands and enriches our experience of the world and its magnificent color. \nAdditional exhibits currently on display:\nFeatured Artist (Lobby Gallery): Expressions by Tina Swaney Black\n \nCorridor Gallery: Mike King’s Florida by Mike King\n \nArtist Corner (winner of the Wisdom in Aging exhibit): Let Me Tell You a Story by Jennifer Houdeshell \nAtrium Gallery: New Narratives by Jeanette Bradley (thru February 26) \nWinners of Pointillism & Beyond\n\n\nAudio Description for Pointillism & Beyond by Mackley Fogarty\nPART 1: Main Theatre \n \nCCC2008 · Pointillism & Beyond Part 1 Main Gallery\n  \nPART 2: House Right Breezeway \n \nCCC2008 · Pointillism & Beyond Part 2 House Right Breezeway\n  \nPART 3: House Left Breezeway \n \nCCC2008 · Pointillism & Beyond Part 3 House Left Breezeway\n

SUMMARY:"Art of Life"
DESCRIPTION:Art of Life is an exhibit by Cecilia Moros in the Corridor Gallery. (Pictured: “Horizon of a Mountain Range” by Cecilia Moros) \nCecilia Moros Martin\, born in Venezuela in 1952\, never anticipated an art career. However\, 25 years ago\, inspired by an anonymous artist\, she began experimenting with colored pencils. Initially unfamiliar with the medium\, she started to sell her naive works in small formats to family and friends. Over time\, she explored acrylics and blended them with colored pencils. As a self-taught artist\, Cecilia embraces a perpetual learning journey and is grateful to share her art with you. \nMain Exhibit: The Student/Faculty Art Show presented by the Gallery at Carrollwood Cultural Center \nFeatured Artists (Lobby Gallery):  Coastal Collections by Betsy Ore Glass with additional work by Tarin and Jonah Mohajeri \nArtist Corner: Power Struggles by Rebecca Skelton \nAtrium Gallery: New Narratives by Jeanette Bradley
