SUMMARY:"Nature's Harmony: A Scientific Symphony" by Gina White
DESCRIPTION:Our world is teeming with vibrant life. It’s in the blades of grass in our front lawns. It’s in the symphonic birdsong that greets us in the morning. It’s even in the air we breathe. Life surrounds us\, envelops us\, and connects us all. \nSince the beginning of human history\, the beauty and complexity of our natural world have inspired both the arts and sciences\, each informing the advancement and illumination of the other. As science broadens our understanding of the intricacies and hidden aspects of our natural world\, the field of creative expression acts as a perfect catalyst to cultivate a deeper connection with nature\, inspiring curiosity\, exploration\, and a sense of interconnectedness. \nI employ art to visually interpret philosophical writings and poetry\, focusing on Christian mystics like Thomas Merton\, St. Teresa of Avila\, and C.S. Lewis. I’ve also done studies of popular music\, including U2\, Arcade Fire\, and Mumford and Sons. Given the subjective nature of poetry and fine art\, I express my “visual reading” in an abstract style\, allowing viewers to discover their own meanings. I am an encaustic artist and beyond wax\, I use oil paint\, wood\, found objects\, and metals. \n– Gina White \nArt Reception: Friday\, April 12 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.   MORE INFO \nGallery Hours:\nMost Mondays through Fridays\n9 a.m. – 6 p.m.\nMost Saturdays\n9 a.m. – noon \nSummer Gallery Hours (June 3-August 2):\nMost Mondays through Fridays\n5:30 p.m. – 8 p.m.\nMost Saturdays\n9 a.m. – noon \nOur gallery is unique because it is integrated in everything we do! When you take a class\, see a show\, or rent a room\, our gallery surrounds you. Please call ahead to ensure the gallery is available for viewing at the time you wish to visit. \n

SUMMARY:"Pointillism & Beyond"
DESCRIPTION:This show is an exploration and an expansion of the Neo-Impressionists’ love of light and pure color!\nDeveloped by Georges Seurat and his student Paul Signac\, it was a more scientific approach to color theory than the previous impressionist movement. According to Paul Signac\, who rejected the “Pointillist” label\, “The Neo-Impressionist does not dot he divides.” The goals of “luminosity” and “harmony” were achieved by using solely pure pigments in the “prism” as defined by English physicist Sir Isaac Newton. \nUsing this perspective as a jumping-off point and an inspiration\, the Gallery at Carrollwood Cultural Center is proud to present artwork that expands and enriches our experience of the world and its magnificent color. \nAdditional exhibits currently on display:\nFeatured Artist (Lobby Gallery): Expressions by Tina Swaney Black\n \nCorridor Gallery: Mike King’s Florida by Mike King\n \nArtist Corner (winner of the Wisdom in Aging exhibit): Let Me Tell You a Story by Jennifer Houdeshell \nAtrium Gallery: artwork by Edel Alvarez Galban \nWinners of Pointillism & Beyond\n\n\nAudio Description for Pointillism & Beyond by Mackley Fogarty\nPART 1: Main Theatre \n \nCCC2008 · Pointillism & Beyond Part 1 Main Gallery\n  \nPART 2: House Right Breezeway \n \nCCC2008 · Pointillism & Beyond Part 2 House Right Breezeway\n  \nPART 3: House Left Breezeway \n \nCCC2008 · Pointillism & Beyond Part 3 House Left Breezeway\n

\nAdditional exhibits currently on display:\nFeatured Artist (Lobby Gallery): Expressions by Tina Swaney Black\n \nCorridor Gallery: Mike King’s Florida by Mike King\n \nArtist Corner (winner of the Wisdom in Aging exhibit): Let Me Tell You a Story by Jennifer Houdeshell \nAtrium Gallery: New Narratives by Jeanette Bradley (thru February 26) \nWinners of Pointillism & Beyond\n\n\nAudio Description for Pointillism & Beyond by Mackley Fogarty\nPART 1: Main Theatre \n \nCCC2008 · Pointillism & Beyond Part 1 Main Gallery\n  \nPART 2: House Right Breezeway \n \nCCC2008 · Pointillism & Beyond Part 2 House Right Breezeway\n  \nPART 3: House Left Breezeway \n \nCCC2008 · Pointillism & Beyond Part 3 House Left Breezeway\n
