DESCRIPTION:The New Horizons International Music Association (NHIMA) is a worldwide organization comprised of more than 250 New Horizons groups with 10\,000 members. Some played music during their school years and stashed their instrument in a closet\, or attic while the demands of work and raising children took center stage. Others dreamt of being a musician but never had the opportunity\, or the money to pay for lessons and instruments when they were school age. Both groups find themselves now at or near retirement with children grown and gone\, fewer responsibilities\, but just as much desire. \nThe NHIMA provides opportunities for adults to be involved in a band – whether it’s for the first time\, or the first time in a long time. SUMMARY:Rehearsal: Carrollwood Winds
DESCRIPTION:The Carrollwood Winds is a concert band comprised of local community members who are committed to performance. The band performs a wide range of literature at the high school and college level. Members of the band are not beginners or novices\, rather members of the community with band experience who are looking for a venue to continue their craft. The Carrollwood Winds performs at the Carrollwood Cultural Center four to five times throughout the year and is branching out to other community and educational venues as well.

DESCRIPTION:The Carrollwood Community Chorus is open to anyone\, regardless of experience\, as long as you have a song in your heart. From the campfire to the Red Carpet\, members from all walks of life come together to share their gift and love of song. The chorus performs regularly at the Center\, local events and has even been known to “pop up” in crowds around the holidays. The group meets weekly to rehearse; however\, this group of friendly folks are known to keep in touch outside of rehearsals\, too! Now that’s something to sing about! \nCommunity Chorus
