About this Artist

Artist and author Betsy Ore Glass presents “Reflections by the Sea Art Exhibit and Book Signing” at Carrollwood Cultural Center.

Betsy, a two-time breast cancer survivor, will be available for a meet and greet with an opportunity to sign her book, Reflections by the Sea, based on her weekly newspaper column sharing wisdom and insight from her life.

“At the age of 50, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I was shocked. It was then that I started to write in earnest. My children were college-aged and I felt there were things I could still share with them about life. My happy place had always been the beach and so I wrote stories that used the beach as a backdrop for the inspiration I wanted to offer them.  In the course of a year, between successful treatments, I had written 30 devotions, the basis of my first book, Reflections by the Sea,” Betsy states.

The art exhibit is a debut solo show of pastel paintings and photography. Betsy’s work mostly revolves around beautiful beach landscapes and dynamic pastels of ocean waves. There will be originals, prints, calendars, and books available for purchase which are perfect for holiday gifts.

The art reception will feature live music from singer/songwriter Taylor Reed and light refreshments will be available.

The art reception and book signing will take place on November 4, 2022, from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at Carrollwood Cultural Center, 4537 Lowell Road, Tampa, FL 33618.
