Combining facets of Expressive Arts and the Zentangle® Art Method (ZAM), this class uses both methods to identify a more balanced life rhythm through artistic self-expression. The class begins with students checking in with their current body, (energy), Mind, (will), and spirit, (hope and faith) by expressing their current state out onto round paper tiles with ink and pastel chalk. Then the class shifts to movement, sound, and writing to allow students to get in touch with the moment. The class will then create a larger piece of introspective art. This technique of combining both methods was designed by Miriam Zimms. Whether one is a seasoned artist or a beginner, there is no prior drawing experience necessary in therapeutic art. Students will leave the class having created their own beautiful tile, knowing that anything is possible one stroke at a time.
