Kids’ Garden Club
Young gardeners will benefit from working as a team while leaning the basics of sustainable gardening. Guided by a Center staff member and an occasional VISTA Gardens volunteers, students will directly participate in organically growing plants from seed to harvest. Students will learn about the differing needs (soil, moisture, fertilization, pruning, etc.) of 3-4 vegetables, including the importance of planting flowers to attract pollinating bees. Some harvested vegetables will be donated to the Community Food Panty, while the remainder will be divided among students to share with their families.
