SUMMARY:Shakespeare's Oz: A Parody Play in Five Acts
DESCRIPTION:Shakespeare’s Oz: A Parody Play in Five Acts\nBy Jordan Monsell \nWhat if William Shakespeare had written The Wizard of Oz? Travel over the rainbow to the early 17th Century in this reimagining of the classic story by L. Frank Baum. Using iambic pentameter\, period prose\, and historical engravings\, author Jordan Monsell weaves a tale fit for the Bard. There be no place like home. \n(Shakespeare’s Oz: A Parody Play in Five Acts is a staged reading.) \nAbout the Author:\nJordan Monsell was born in Syosset\, New York\, in 1979. In 2005\, he moved to Los Angeles\, where he works as an actor\, writer\, and freelance illustrator. In 2010\, Jordan’s illustrations appeared in You Might Be a Zombie and Other Bad News\, published through Cracked.com and Penguin Books. Other clients include 20th Century Fox\, MSNBC\, Avalon Family Entertainment\, Sony\, and The Hollywood Fringe Festival. In 2011\, he directed his first play\, Pulp Shakespeare: The Unauthorized Shakespearean Parody of Pulp Fiction\, which received awards and acclaim in New York City and Los Angeles. Jordan’s next play\, Ministers of Grace: The Unauthorized Shakespearean Parody of Ghostbusters\, is available on Amazon.com.
