SUMMARY:"Give Thanks\, Give Back" by Hanna Rachocka (Online Exhibit & Auction)
DESCRIPTION:Give Thanks\, Give Back by Hanna Rachocka is an entirely online exhibit and charity auction benefiting the Carrollwood Cultural Center. The exhibit and auction will close on December 31\, 2026.\nThe collection is a series of ten impasto acrylic paintings by Hanna Rachocka that transform the traditional still life into an elemental exploration of emotion\, weather\, and inner fire. Each vessel becomes a metaphor for the human spirit—resilient in rain\, tangled in thought\, radiant in bloom\, or aflame with creative force. Together\, the works weave a narrative of resilience\, paradox\, celebration\, and transformation\, inviting viewers to reflect on the seasons and storms of the soul. \nEach original painting is valued at $700 but available for a $375 donation. You can purchase each painting by donating directly to the Carrollwood Cultural Center. Paintings are available for immediate pick up once the donation is made. 100% of the proceeds will directly support the Center. \nVisit hrartstudio.com to view other works by Hanna Rachocka\,

SUMMARY:"Direct/Indirect" by William Talenti
DESCRIPTION:“At the heart of all beauty lies something inhuman\, and these hills\, the softness of the sky\, the outline of these trees at this very minute lose the illusory meaning with which we had clothed them.”\n-Albert Camus\nThese six paintings (in the exhibit) concern pigment application and idea combination. I began each piece with a deliberate modality—Realistic\, Abstract\, or Non-Objective—pairing each with a “sister” painting on an opposing wall to serve as a formal counterpoint. Eventually\, the rules dissolved\, and I stopped following the recipe. An overlapping of my emotional state and the evolving surface of the paint occurred\, allowing the content to find its own voice beyond the initial structure. \nDirect/Indirect represents a deliberate unlearning of over thirty years of visual literacy. As both an educator and a painter\, I am fascinated by how a personal artistic voice is constructed\, refined\, and—eventually—dismantled. By isolating the core elements of color\, shape\, value\, and pattern\, I converge figurative representation with the intuitive faculty of abstraction. These works seek the tension between what we see and how we think\, emptying the familiar to discover what remains. \n-William Talenti

SUMMARY:"The Human Expression" by Sal Patalano
DESCRIPTION:“My work begins with an encounter. These photographs are not taken from a distance or in anonymity. Each image begins with a conversation — an introduction\, a shared moment\, and permission granted between two people who were unknown to one another minutes before. \nI am drawn to faces that carry experience rather than performance. Working primarily on the street\, I seek moments where vulnerability\, dignity\, and individuality reveal themselves outside controlled environments. The resulting portraits exist between street photography and formal portraiture: spontaneous yet deliberate\, candid yet collaborative.” \n– Sal Patalano

SUMMARY:"On the Edge of a Broken Sky" by Tim Price
DESCRIPTION:“On the Edge of a Broken Sky explores the emotional\, psychological\, and social spaces that exist between us—zones shaped by connection and care\, but also by fear\, judgment\, misunderstanding\, and conflict. \nThe works in this exhibition reflect a way of seeing that’s been developed over three decades of visual journalism across print\, web\, and broadcast. “Broken Sky” functions as both metaphor and condition: a shared emotional landscape fractured by experience\, yet still capable of illumination.” \n– Tim Price

SUMMARY:"The Magic World of Joel Santana" by Joel Santana
DESCRIPTION:After twenty years illustrating for advertising and major gaming studios\, I kept returning to the same question: what does it mean to make something that simply is\, that doesn’t sell a product or tell someone else’s story? \nThis show is my answer. The work varies between overlooked moments\, light cutting through ordinary scenes\, and whimsical narratives that carry more than they first appear. I paint from faith and from light. SUMMARY:Rehearsal: New Horizons Band
DESCRIPTION:The New Horizons International Music Association (NHIMA) is a worldwide organization comprised of more than 250 New Horizons groups with 10\,000 members. Some played music during their school years and stashed their instrument in a closet\, or attic while the demands of work and raising children took center stage. Others dreamt of being a musician but never had the opportunity\, or the money to pay for lessons and instruments when they were school age. Both groups find themselves now at or near retirement with children grown and gone\, fewer responsibilities\, but just as much desire. \nThe NHIMA provides opportunities for adults to be involved in a band – whether it’s for the first time\, or the first time in a long time. Together we learn and perform in a friendly and positive atmosphere. \nMore Info

SUMMARY:M*A*S*H
DESCRIPTION:M*A*S*H\nAdapted by Tim Kelly\nBased on the book by Richard Hooker\nDirected by Chris Holcom \nM*A*S*H stands for Mobile Army Surgical Hospital\, and joining it are two unpredictable madcaps\, Hawkeye and Duke. They can’t be dealt with casually\, however\, because they are also two of the best chest surgeons in South Korea. They decide to wage a campaign to get a young Korean to the United States and entered in a good school. The thread of this effort helps tie together the pileup of comic adventures that pyramid right before your eyes! Hawkeye has a scene with a woman psychiatrist who believes he’s been trying to lobster-trap mermaids in a rice paddy! There’s a jolly encounter with the baby-talking Bonwit sisters\, the worst tap-dancing act the U.S.O. ever sent overseas\, and a sergeant is selling dumb GIs fishing rights in the Bay of Phum. Radar O’Reilly\, a soldier with incredible hearing\, anticipates things before they happen. The proprietor of a painless dental clinic is cured of dark moods by the recreation of an old monster movie—and a monster! It’s all here\, including a little romance mixed in with dramatic moments and a genuine love of life. \nM*A*S*H is presented through a special arrangement with the Dramatic Publishing Company of Woodstock\, NY. \nAudition / Sponsor this Show \n\nAdmission: $30 for members / $35 for general admission Group Rate (10+): $32 (This event will have reserved seating.) \n\n*An ASL interpreter will be available for the performance on May 22. Please inquire at the time of purchase. \n(This is a ticketed event. Some online processing fees may apply. Visit the Box Office or call (813) 922-8167 to avoid processing fees.)

SUMMARY:"Here and There" by Willow Wright
DESCRIPTION:Here and There displays a variety of landscapes that have intrigued me in the past several years in my travels up the coast of the U.S.\, along the coast of Portugal\, near Tavira\, and in and around the Tampa Bay area. The land and the light have captured my wonder\, wherever I’ve travelled\, and I endeavor to document the rich and varied environment we live in. If we don’t take care of it\, it could be gone in under 100 years. \nPictured: “Alone on the Beach”

DESCRIPTION:The Carrollwood Community Chorus is open to anyone\, regardless of experience\, as long as you have a song in your heart. From the campfire to the Red Carpet\, members from all walks of life come together to share their gift and love of song. The chorus performs regularly at the Center\, local events and has even been known to “pop up” in crowds around the holidays. The group meets weekly to rehearse; however\, this group of friendly folks are known to keep in touch outside of rehearsals\, too! Now that’s something to sing about! \nCommunity Chorus
