SUMMARY:"Give Thanks\, Give Back" by Hanna Rachocka (Online Exhibit & Auction)
DESCRIPTION:Give Thanks\, Give Back by Hanna Rachocka is an entirely online exhibit and charity auction benefiting the Carrollwood Cultural Center. The exhibit and auction will close on December 31\, 2026.\nThe collection is a series of ten impasto acrylic paintings by Hanna Rachocka that transform the traditional still life into an elemental exploration of emotion\, weather\, and inner fire. Each vessel becomes a metaphor for the human spirit—resilient in rain\, tangled in thought\, radiant in bloom\, or aflame with creative force. Together\, the works weave a narrative of resilience\, paradox\, celebration\, and transformation\, inviting viewers to reflect on the seasons and storms of the soul. \nEach original painting is valued at $700 but available for a $375 donation. You can purchase each painting by donating directly to the Carrollwood Cultural Center. Paintings are available for immediate pick up once the donation is made. 100% of the proceeds will directly support the Center. \nVisit hrartstudio.com to view other works by Hanna Rachocka\,

SUMMARY:"Direct/Indirect" by William Talenti
DESCRIPTION:“At the heart of all beauty lies something inhuman\, and these hills\, the softness of the sky\, the outline of these trees at this very minute lose the illusory meaning with which we had clothed them.”\n-Albert Camus\nThese six paintings (in the exhibit) concern pigment application and idea combination. I began each piece with a deliberate modality—Realistic\, Abstract\, or Non-Objective—pairing each with a “sister” painting on an opposing wall to serve as a formal counterpoint. Eventually\, the rules dissolved\, and I stopped following the recipe. An overlapping of my emotional state and the evolving surface of the paint occurred\, allowing the content to find its own voice beyond the initial structure. \nDirect/Indirect represents a deliberate unlearning of over thirty years of visual literacy. As both an educator and a painter\, I am fascinated by how a personal artistic voice is constructed\, refined\, and—eventually—dismantled. By isolating the core elements of color\, shape\, value\, and pattern\, I converge figurative representation with the intuitive faculty of abstraction. These works seek the tension between what we see and how we think\, emptying the familiar to discover what remains. \n-William Talenti

SUMMARY:"Retrospective - Do Not Disturb" by William Talenti
DESCRIPTION:The world presents itself in contradiction—at once profoundly beautiful and deeply fractured. My artworks are meditations; they are puzzles. I do not resolve or conceal this duality; instead\, I embrace it within the stillness of my studio\, finding honest moments in broken imperfections. \nSpanning thirty years\, Do Not Disturb brings together autobiographical ideas that have been developed\, abandoned\, and rediscovered. Early explorations intersect with new directions\, creating a dialogue between the past and the present. This collection is both a look back at how I’ve grown and a push to see how much further I can go. \n– William Talenti \nClick here to view Gallery Hours.

SUMMARY:"Paper People" by Zhannay Monique
DESCRIPTION:Zhannay  “Naynay” McBride is a self-taught visual artist located in Tampa\, Florida\, with seven years of dedicated studio practice. Working primarily in acrylic on canvas\, she creates vibrant\, imaginative paintings that explore complex emotional landscapes and are deeply influenced by the media of her childhood and Y2K media. \nThrough her art\, Zhannay employs colorful\, expressive characters to illuminate her lived experiences with Type 1 diabetes and mental health challenges. Her work has been featured at prominent local cultural events\, including the Tampa Juneteenth Festival\, Tampa Pride\, and exhibitions at the Carrollwood Cultural Center. Looking ahead\, Zhannay is committed to expanding her body of work to further raise awareness about Type 1 diabetes\, with plans to showcase these new projects at upcoming exhibitions in galleries throughout the Tampa Bay Area. \nArtist Statement\n“My body of work is a collage of my memories\, culture\, and experiences. I look fondly at my experiences whether they are good or bad because it comes from a place of understanding and I try to convey that perception into my paintings. I enjoy sneaking in some elements from early 2000s cartoons and Y2K media because these things helped comfort me during my struggles with juvenile Type 1 diabetes and mental health. I prefer using cartoon elements as a vehicle to portray heavy topics because it allows a safe space where genuine dialogue can be opened for everyone without being so obtrusive. \nI have been experimenting with creating scenes that are a mixture of flat 2-D elements against 3-D elements to add many visual textures to the painting and I enjoy creating the look of paper in my artwork. People are a lot like sheets of paper\, we all have folds and creases in many different places\, many of us have similar experiences but we all have different viewpoints. This is how people connect and have empathy for one another.” \n– Zhannay Monique

SUMMARY:"Chasing Colors" by Julie Remillard
DESCRIPTION:Julie Remillard is a mixed-media artist whose work in watercolor and fused glass explores the balance between control and spontaneity. After a 20-year career in healthcare\, she turned more fully toward art to step outside the structure and seriousness of her profession and reconnect with creativity and play. \nHer watercolor paintings are grounded in realism but reimagined through vibrant\, unexpected color. Julie is drawn to the quiet tension between precision and intuition.

SUMMARY:"Here and There" by Willow Wright
DESCRIPTION:Here and There displays a variety of landscapes that have intrigued me in the past several years in my travels up the coast of the U.S.\, along the coast of Portugal\, near Tavira\, and in and around the Tampa Bay area. The land and the light have captured my wonder\, wherever I’ve travelled\, and I endeavor to document the rich and varied environment we live in. If we don’t take care of it\, it could be gone in under 100 years. \nPictured: “Alone on the Beach”
