DESCRIPTION:A Play by Rick Elice Based on the Novel by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson Music by Wayne Barker Originally produced on Broadway by Nancy Nagel Gibbs\, Greg Schaffert\, Eva Price\, Tom Smedes\, and Disney Theatrical Productions\nPerformed by the Center’s Summer Intensive Students\, ages 14-17. \nTony-winning Peter and the Starcatcher upends the century-old story of how a miserable orphan comes to be The Boy Who Would Not Grow Up (a.k.a. Peter Pan). From marauding pirates and jungle tyrants to unwilling comrades and unlikely heroes\, Peter and the Starcatcher playfully explores the depths of greed and despair… and the bonds of friendship\, duty\, and love. \nA young orphan and his mates are shipped off from Victorian England to a distant island ruled by the evil King Zarboff. They know nothing of the mysterious trunk in the captain’s cabin\, which contains a precious\, otherworldly cargo. At sea\, the boys are discovered by a precocious young girl named Molly\, a Starcatcher-in-training who realizes that the trunk’s precious cargo is starstuff\, a celestial substance so powerful that it must never fall into the wrong hands. When the ship is taken over by pirates – led by the fearsome Black Stache\, a villain determined to claim the trunk and its treasure for his own – the journey quickly becomes a thrilling adventure. \nPeter and the Starcatcher is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). DESCRIPTION:Every Friday at 4 p.m.\, campers ages 4-10 will show off their new skills and perform skits\, music\, songs\, and dances for each other\, friends\, and family. \nPerformance Schedule: \n\nAges 4-5 will take the stage at 4 p.m.\nAges 6-8 will start around 4:30 p.m.\nAges 9-10 will not start before 5 p.m.\n\n(Campers ages 11-13 will join the fun with an original production every third Thursday\, while ages 14-17 will perform every fourth Thursday.)
