SUMMARY:"Behind My Mask" by Keila Small
DESCRIPTION:My work is a constant search for the best way to interpret the ideas that I have about myself as a woman. Through my new series\,” Through my\nEyes”\, I do not limit myself to one style or concept simply because interpretation and ideas change. I believe in creativity\, imagination and self-expression. I portray my subjects in surroundings that are relevant to my life and/or in a manner that best captives my emotions at the time. I think of my work as a celebration and affirmation of my life. Each portrait is an adventure and curiosity of the human figure. I want to infuse my portraits with a sense of realism\, so each painting appears relaxed and familiar. Art is more about communicating what I am feeling than what I am seeing. My goal is to capture women’s beauty by allowing them to be themselves. HOPE YOU ENJOY THE SHOW! \nBIO\nI currently live and work in sunny Florida. I was raised in Port-Au-Prince\, Haiti. When I was younger\, I was encouraged to pursue education and career interests that would lead to fulfilling my family’s goals for me. I always did artwork\, often hiding my devotion to the craft I loved.\nAfter graduating high school in Haiti\, I went on to North Carolina A&T State University obtaining a BS in Applied Mathematics. While I studied hard and succeeded in these endeavors’ art was always in my heart and on my mind. Today\, if I am asked what I do or even who I am\, I am proud to answer…I am an artist.

SUMMARY:"Adventures in Art" by Jenifer Madson
DESCRIPTION:My journey as an artist began later in life and quickly became a profound calling that transcends mere hobby. My work is a way of translating the dynamic energy around me into a visual narrative that invites others to see the world through my eyes. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nMy process is driven by passion; each piece I create is born from a deep connection to the subject matter. Whether it’s a landscape\, a portrait\, or an abstract interpretation\, I strive to capture the essence of movement and life\, whether in the skies\, water\, or the human form\, bringing it to life on canvas with a mix of precision and fluidity. \nMy art is more than a creation—it’s an invitation to wonder and reflection\, each painting a story waiting for its connection\, its reader. \n– Jenifer Madson \nPHONE: 646-863-4955 \nEMAIL: info@jenifermadson.com

SUMMARY:"Medusa" by Florida in Art
DESCRIPTION:This art exhibition explores the rich and multifaceted narratives of Medusa\, a mythical feminine figure whose story has been told and retold through the ages.\nThe myth of Medusa is a tapestry of tragedy\, transformation\, and power. Artists have been encouraged to delve into this complex myth and present their unique interpretations\, whether Medusa symbolizes victimhood\, empowerment\, or something entirely different. \nArtists interpret a broader dialogue about the influence of myth and art on Western culture and challenge the boundaries of traditional interpretations\, a conversation starter. We are inviting viewers to reconsider Medusa’s story via diverse artistic lenses. \n(Event image: “Medusa” by Patricia Pettit) \n  \n

SUMMARY:"Think Big" by Elizabeth Ventura
DESCRIPTION:Creating large works requires not only exaggerated gestures\, sweeping brush strokes\, and thick paint but also broader\, simpler concepts that can be seen and understood from a distance. Big work means tapping into big dreams. \nI thought about bold colors\, distinct shapes\, a mix of organic and structured elements to create a noticeable presence. \nThink Big was jump-started by a conversation with a group of women of a certain age that centered on the “cultural invisibility” of older women. Think Big says “I’m here and I still have something meaningful to say.” \n– Elizabeth Ventura
