SUMMARY:"Pointillism & Beyond"
DESCRIPTION:This show is an exploration and an expansion of the Neo-Impressionists’ love of light and pure color!\nDeveloped by Georges Seurat and his student Paul Signac\, it was a more scientific approach to color theory than the previous impressionist movement. Exhibitions and artists with work on display include: \nMain Theatre: Pointillism & Beyond presented by the Gallery at Carrollwood Cultural Center \nFeatured Artist (Lobby Gallery): Expressions by Tina Swaney Black\n \nCorridor Gallery: Mike King’s Florida by Mike King \nArtist Corner (winner of the Wisdom in Aging exhibit): Let Me Tell You a Story by Jennifer Houdeshell \nAtrium Gallery: New Narratives by Jeanette Bradley (thru February 26) \n\n\nAnnamarie Smith-Butz \nAbout vocalist Annamarie Smith-Butz\nAnnamarie Smith-Butz and her husband\, Wolf\, moved to the Tampa Bay area from Virginia Beach\, VA\, in 2018.  Prior to that\, she spent 12 years in New York City\, and covered almost 20\,000 miles in various national tours playing Eliza in My Fair Lady\, Anna in The King And I and Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors.  \n She also starred in such theatrical productions as Call Me Madame\, Can Can\, Shenandoah\, Oliver! and Annie. She traveled around the world on Holland America Cruise Lines as a headline entertainer and produced and performed a one-woman show at the Village Gate in New York City called Let Yourself Go.  \nPast President of the Board of Directors of Virginia Musical Theatre\, current member of The Tidewater Winds Board of Directors\, and advisory board member fcr the non-profit Radio St. Pete organization\, Annamarie most recently has collaborated with the Tidewater Winds Big Band in Virginia Beach and the TomKats Jazz Orchestra here in St. Pete in making Big Band and the Standard Songbook available to a wide range of audiences.   \nIn 2024\, she will be releasing “Annamarie & the Winds\, Ella-mentally Yours\,” a CD featuring the big band arrangements of Ella Fitzgerald. \nHer next major production with be in May 2024 at the Palladium Side Door\, St. Petersburg\, FL.  She will be performing in  her cabaret show “Swinging Down Broadway\,” in which she takes songs from shows she has done and puts a decidedly jazz sensibility on the Broadway format. \n\nNo RSVP is required.
