CAROLE NORTHINGTON
June 2 - 29

Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Carol studied art and design at the University of North Texas and the University of Texas in Austin. She later completed a bachelor’s in Business Management at Rutgers University. She married her high school sweetheart, Leo, and moved to New Jersey. Together, they raised their two children, Gina and Jamal. Carol and Leo retired and moved to in 2005 to Tampa where she once again pursued her art career. Carol paints with acrylic paint using a variety of textures. She experiments with a variety of mediums and mixed media to create different textures. She also draws with charcoal. She has a primary focus on design and color with her abstracts and character with her portraits. Subject matter includes abstracts, people, animals, and flowers. She is the current President of the North Tampa Arts League. Her work has also been exhibited at the Carrollwood Cultural Center; The Great Frame Up; Beck Gallery; New Tampa Library where she was artist of the Month (August 2007 & February 2009); Jimmie Keel Library; Exclusive Clientele Salon, Wine Harvest and The Jewelry Studio.

 Artist’s Statement: “I bring a different interpretation and perspective in reproducing a subject. I want the viewer to have either an emotional reaction or be able to see many different things when they look at my art.”
